And yes this includes Eros and your eroticism. There is so much shame and fear to connect to our eroticism in the presence of others. But our eroticism is part of us, part of the human experience and an essential element to our life force and energy. So shutting it down, like we so often have to do, shuts down huge parts of ourselves. Here, you are invited to be open to it. To welcome it. When or if it arises, it will be celebrated. But if it doesn't, that's fine too.
A key question to keep in mind is: what is true for me right now? What is my desire? Is it even erotic? It is absolutely ok if it isn't.
By entering the Temple, you do consent to being in a space where Eros can arise and may be expressed by people around you.
For this Temple night, nudity, erotic energy, and its expression are welcome if they arise, and completely optional. You can have a wonderful, meaningful Temple experience with your clothes on and without touching anyone if that's what you desire. And if you want to playfully engage with the erotic energy that feels alive in you, that's very welcome as well.
The most important principle of a Temple Night is consent.
What is consent?
Consent is respecting and encouraging people’s agency to decide when, and how others get access to their personal sphere, including their body, time, energy, and space, or not. Note that this is not exclusive to sexuality and that it includes the responsibility to understand what you want and don’t want, and communicate that clearly to others. In short: You never do what you don’t want to do. You celebrate others for expressing their NO. We’ll practice this.
